Bruce Gilden

Bruce Gilden's street photography is close, personal, and raw. Much of his work was shot pre-social media and I wonder if his method of shooting still works today. Watching how he works makes me cringe, however maybe the tough streets of NYC are established for this work environment.

In other interviews, he describes how confidence and eye contact before he shoots is crucial. While in Peru, his instinct told him not to take his camera out of his bag.

Personally, I would be offended if, without notice, someone jumped a few feet in front of me with a flash. Would you?
