Visual artist Lucio Arese has been exploring that question with Seeing Birdsong, transforming bird vocalizations into these evocative, sculptural, evolving 3D forms.

The sound doesn't simply inspire the visuals. The underlying acoustic information actually shapes what we're seeing. Each song becomes its own kind of spatial sculpture, somewhere between data visualization, science, and art.
